From Tucson to the Upper East Side: A Family Session in New York City
Meeting them in the heart of Manhattan felt like the perfect collision of two worlds—the warmth of their desert roots mingling with the timeless charm of NYC. It was clear from the moment we met up that this wasn’t just a photo session; it was an experience.
Our adventure began on the Upper East Side, strolling past elegant brownstones that made us feel like we’d stepped straight onto a “Gossip Girl” set. (Yes, we *had* to stop by the steps of The Met for some Serena van der Woodsen-inspired moments!) Their little one giggled as she adventured through this magical city, laughter bouncing off the historic walls. Her parents, with their effortlessly chic vibe, fit right into the city’s stylish backdrop.
From there, we wandered into one of my new favorite art galleries. It was a quiet moment amidst the buzz of the city—a place where all of us were wide-eyed and in awe of this timeless space. As the sunlight poured through the gallery’s windows, creating the most stunning patterns of light and shadow, I couldn’t help but marvel at the beauty of this family for trusting me to capture not just their portraits, but the essence of who they are.
The day unfolded like a love letter to New York. Central Park treated us to its golden hour glow, with the iconic Bethesda Terrace and San Remo Apartment making an appearance in the background. The family played in the leaves as if they were in their own world. These stylish parents shared little, stole glances at each other that reminded me why I love photographing families so much.
This session was more than just a photoshoot. It was a reminder of why I do what I do—to connect with incredible families who travel miles to share their stories, to embrace my vision, and to trust me to capture their most cherished moments.
